Jess Thompson

Services Manager
Growing up alongside siblings with additional needs shaped my lifelong commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities. Over the years, I’ve worked with children and adults across education settings, in their homes, and within the community.

My experience includes five years in health and social care, with the past year in management, as well as leading an additional needs ministry within a large Christian organisation working with churches to improve accessibility and overseeing teams that provide tailored support for people with a wide range of needs.

I’m passionate about recognising the value in every person I meet, and I’m drawn to ELSI‘s Christian ethos because it brings together high‑quality care with values that deeply resonate with me.

Charis Hardy

Having a family member with a disability has given me a lot of experience, insight and understanding as to how best to support a person with learning disabilities.  I have gained wisdom, resilience and awareness of the commitment needed when supporting people. It has allowed me to appreciate a person for who they are.

After university I went to pursue a career within education.  I supported children with learning disabilities as a Teaching Assistant, managed classrooms as a Cover Supervisor, taught swimming lessons and helped run and manage a boarding house as a Deputy Housemistress.

I have a heart to support people and believe the calling to set up ELSI is part of the plan God has for me.

Andrew Phillips

Operations Director

I have worked in social care since 1992 supporting adults with learning disabilities. I have been part of management teams in residential, supported living and day service settings for 16 years, working within local authority areas in South Wales and have also supported adults with physical health and mental health needs and have experience of elderly care. I have also been a Positive Behaviour Management trainer for 6 years and I have the level 5 Health and Social care qualification.

I have recently joined ELSI as part of the management team and am looking forward to serving the Lord and supporting people through the work of ELSI.
